Knowing how to bake chicken is important. This is especially true if you are a mother, and have very energetic toddlers. We moms know that our sons and daughters have an ‘instinctual’ partiality to chickens.

How to Bake Chicken: Mothers’ Should Learn How It Works

How To Bake ChickenHowever, even if it is their most favorite meal, serving them fried chicken every day might make them unhappy. So to rescue yourself from their guilt inducing puppy eyes every time they eat the same thing, you should know some variation on how to cook their chicken.

Single Life

Actually, when I was not married yet, I could not even cook fried chicken. It has been normal for me to visit the fast food chains downtown just to eat. Unfortunately, when my first kid was born, driving downtown just to get our dinner was very inconvenient for us. You might say that I should have gotten our dinner delivered to our house instead. Sadly, I have only realized that as of this writing.

So instead of getting our food from those chains, I decided to learn how to cook. Well, I was actually pushed by my husband to learn since he regularly teased me. He always told me that if I am not in the kitchen, I am not a woman.

The Woman in the Kitchen Joke

How To Bake ChickenHonestly, that joke has really gotten into my nerves. And the last straw he pulled to make me learn how to cook as his challenge. He told me that if I were able to imitate his mom’s baked honey mustard chicken that he loves, he would buy me the pair of stilettos I was eyeing during that time.

However, I took on the challenge. Surprisingly, it was very easy! All I did was follow the recipe I found on the net, and voila!

Unfortunately, I was not able to imitate the taste of his mom’s honey mustard chicken. But because my hubby is a great guy, he still bought the stilettos for me. Though he made me promise to learn more about baking, cooking, and preparing meals. Fortunately, he did not need to encourage me further. Cooking and baking captured my interest. After that, the rest is history.

How to Bake Chicken: Honey Mustard

On a different note, since you have already read all the way down here, let me share with you the recipe I used when I first tried to bake a honey mustard chicken. The ingredients I used were 3 chicken breasts, 1/2 cup mustard (prepared), 1/2 cup honey, 1/2-teaspoon parsley, 1-teaspoon paprika, and 1-teaspoon basil.

To start preparing your chicken, cut the 3 chicken breasts in halves. After that, get a bowl and mix all the ingredients together with it (except the chicken breasts). The next step is to put the chicken parts on a greased pan, and then pour half of the mixture you made on top of the chicken.

Then, you must bake the chicken in a preheated oven (the oven must be 350 degrees Fahrenheit hot) for at least 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, turn the chicken breasts over and pour the remaining mixture on the chicken. Next is to let it bake for 10 to 15 minutes more. Make sure that the chicken’s skin will become golden brown. And once that happens, your chicken will be ready for consumption.

As of now, every time that I go home from school (I am a part time college professor, by the way), I always make sure that before my husband and kids get home, a delicious and healthy dinner made by me is waiting for them. And I am happy that I made the right decision on learning how to bake chicken.
